The Department of Physiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Applicants must have an Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include graduate and medical student instruction and training graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing a successful extramurally-supported research program.

Successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally-funded research program that focuses on mechanistic investigations of physiology. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research leverages molecular, biophysical, structural, and cell-biological insights to inform physiological function. The Department has strengths in membrane transport, cytoskeletal biology, molecular motors, cell signaling, metabolism and cellular neuroscience, with strong interests in novel technologies and interdisciplinary research.
