The Wyant College of Optical Sciences is seeking applicants to fill an Associate Research Professor position that will lead various space and ground telescope projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead various space and ground telescope/instrument design, fabrication, and testing efforts at the Wyant College of Optical Sciences and other collaborating facilities like Richard F. Caris Mirror Lab, LPL, etc. 
  • Supervise undergraduate/graduate students' research and investigations.
  • Work with a number of postdoctoral researchers and junior research faculties.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Optics, Physics, and/or Astronomy
  • Extensive journal/conference publications (>80 combined)
  • Research experience as PI and/or Co-PI
  • Optical Design Capability using Zemax and/or CodeV
  • Previous Adaptive Optics Experience
  • Demonstrated Astronomical Observatory Work Experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in the graduate-level courses (e.g., Special Guest Lecturer, Co-lecturer)
