Job Description


The Department of Chemistry of the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a tenure track or tenured faculty position in Inorganic Chemistry. Applicants at all levels will be considered. We seek a colleague who will establish a vigorous research program; candidates with expertise in Inorganic Chemistry, particularly in the synthesis of molecular compounds, are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will also be committed to teaching chemistry at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We further seek candidates who will promote the success of historically underrepresented and marginalized student communities and address the needs of our increasingly diverse state and student population. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field; postdoctoral experience is desirable. Applications should be submitted at https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/apply/JPF08688. The application must include a cover letter (1 - 2 pages), a curriculum vitae (including publications), a concise statement of proposed research (1 page executive summary and 5-9 pages of additional details), a teaching statement (1 page), and a separate statement that addresses past and/or potential contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion (1 page). Applicants at the Assistant Professor level must also arrange to have three letters of recommendation submitted on their behalf (Associate and Full Professor applicants need only provide contact information for reference), and sign the University's Sexual Misconduct, Harassment and Discrimination Declaration.
