Position Description

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), has an exciting career opportunity for a recent Ph.D. graduate or postdoc in the biomedical research field interested in pursuing a career in Research Administration. The CSHL Office of Sponsored Programs actively promotes the research and education mission of CSHL by proactively identifying and facilitating the submissions of research proposals, negotiating the terms of awards and managing sponsored research funding in collaboration with CSHL Investigators and the Director of Research.

Position Responsibilities

The Grants Administrator will: provide consultation to CSHL Principal Investigators, trainees and   administrators regarding research awards, budgets, progress reports and expenses; oversee grant set-ups, help prepare Progress Reports, Prior Approval requests, respond to Other Support and Just-in-Time documentation requests; host grantwriting workshops, train new faculty and scientific administrators in research compliance; and help ensure the proper stewardship of third party funding.

Position Requirements

1-3 years of relevant experience in a sponsored research/grants management environment may be substituted with a Ph.D. in a relevant research discipline. Postdoctoral research experience a plus. Excellent organizational, analytical, collaborative and consultative skills are required. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are essential.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this role is $70,000-80,000.  The salary range or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
