Job Summary
The Biodevices for Circulatory Flow (BioCirc) Research Lab at Drexel University is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral fellow to be a leading part of an interdisciplinary team. Our mission is to innovate therapeutic strategies and devices for pediatric and adult patients suffering from heart failure, secondary to acquired or congenital heart disease. The position start date is negotiable but should start no later than November 15, 2023. This fellow will work under the supervision of Dr. Amy Throckmorton, Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Health Systems. Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, designing, refining, and executing computational analyses, mentoring, authoring publications, and assisting in general research.
Essential Functions
- Design, build, and perform computational modeling research projects (e.g. steady, transient, multiscale simulations).
- Analyze and interpret findings from simulations and modeling work.
- Draft scholarship work products (e.g. manuscripts, abstracts, presentations)
- Collaborate with faculty, students, and external partners in research.
- Mentorship of undergraduates, graduate students, and other junior lab trainees
- Assist with the development of extramural grant applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate
- Biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
- 3 Year’s experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience in computational biofluidics and cardiovascular mechanics.

Additional Information
This position is classified as exempt with a grade of I, $41,120 - $61,680. The offered salary is dependent upon internal equity and the successful candidate’s competencies, education, and experience.
