Associate Director for Translational Research / Endowed Professor with Tenure

The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, celebrating its 39th  year as a leading center for cancer research, is recruiting outstanding basic science faculty who are working in the field of Translational Cancer Research at the Professor level  to join established programs within the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at the University of Pittsburgh.

We are currently recruiting for an Associate Director and full-time Professor with tenure to carry out cutting-edge cancer research in the area of Translational Cancer Research.  The ideal candidate shall be an established independent investigator with interdisciplinary translational research in innovative biology with immediate clinical relevance and application, significant publications, and extramural grant funding. The candidate will have a strong record in teaching and mentoring graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty members. The candidate should have a strong commitment to collaborating with clinical and/or translational scientists and have the necessary skills for grant writing and producing peer-reviewed publications. Successful candidates will have PhD, MD, both degrees or equivalent and relevant laboratory and leadership experience. Preferential consideration will be given to those from NCI designated cancer centers with scientific program or other leadership experience.

Located in the city of Pittsburgh (routinely ranked as one of the top most livable and affordable U.S. cities), Hillman (previously known as the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute) is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with over 300 members; seven research programs in basic, translational, clinical, and population sciences; ten shared resources that receive funding from our NCI Cancer Center Support Grant https://hillmanresearch.upmc.edu/research/ ; and Hillman Cancer Center serves a catchment area of 29 Western Pennsylvania counties and provides unique opportunities to collaborate with clinical and translational research programs involved in cancer patient care.
