Job Description

The Postdoctoral Researcher in Cell culture will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and optimize cell lines for specific research objectives. 
  • Formulate and optimize cell culture media.
  • Conduct stem-cell differentiation experiments.
  • Utilize analytical techniques, including but not limited to animal cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, qPCR, immunocytochemistry. 
  • Independently lead and execute research projects.
  • Draft research manuscripts for publication.
  • Train and mentor students involved in related research.
  • Manage lab functions and ensure a smooth research environment. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PIs.
  • Collaborate closely with Dr. Reza Ovissipour, the PI, on project progress, grant writing, manuscript preparation, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring. 
  • Attend regular meetings with the PI, research team members, stakeholders, and collaborators.
  • May involve occasional travel for project-related activities.
  • Collaborate with other institutions and stakeholders to meet the requirements of the National Institute for Cellular Agriculture.
  • other duties as required.

Required/Preferred experience:

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Cell Biology, Tissue Engineering, Biomedical Engineering). 

Required skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a research team. 
  • Located in or willing to relocate to College Station, Texas.

Preferred skills, knowledge or abilities:

  • Cell isolation
  • cell culture techniques
  • flow cytometry
  • cell imaging, confocal microscopy
  • SEM
  • inverted microscopy
  • microplate reader
  • PCR.
  • Strong experience in cell culture techniques.
  • Proficiency in PCR, imaging, and cell characterization.
