Job Description


Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Physics & Astronomy, Wayne State University.  The successful applicant will work with Prof. Ed Cackett on multiwavelength studies of accretion in AGN and/or X-ray binaries.
Applicants must have received a Ph.D. in astronomy or a related field by the start date.  Experience with time domain astronomy, X-ray analysis, and/or optical photometry is desirable. The nominal starting date is September 2024, though a start date earlier in 2024 is possible.  The appointment will be initially for two years, with a possible extension for a total of up to four years, dependent on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
