Faculty Position in Basic and Translational Cancer Research

Job Description


The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, in collaboration with departments in the School of Medicine and across the entire University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, seeks outstanding candidates for faculty positions at all ranks in basic and translational cancer research. This broad-based recruitment seeks several creative scientists in fundamental molecular, cellular and computational areas applicable to cancer etiology, progression, metastasis and therapy. 

Areas of interest include but are not limited to: understanding of the role of microbiome and cancer, animal models, signaling, systems biology, cancer genetics/genomics/epigenetics, tumor virology, cancer immunology, development of therapeutics and biologics, and gene editing.

Applicants should have a strong record of recent accomplishments as a postdoctoral fellow or sustained productivity as an established faculty member. Appointment and rank in an academic department will be determined by the applicant’s qualifications. We encourage all applications to be submitted by December 1st , 2023.

Educational Requirements: Doctoral Degree.

Qualifications & Experience: Doctoral Degree & at least 2-3 years of postdoctoral research experience.
