Job Description
 

A full-time post-doctoral position focused on understanding the neural correlates of human cognitive function is available in the University of Missouri, Department of Neurosurgery in Columbia, MO.  This position involves analyzing and manipulating human intracranial electrophysiological signals, including single-unit activity and local field potentials recorded from patients with medically refractory epilepsy and from patients receiving deep brain stimulation surgery.  
The Kundu lab’s focus is to understand the neural mechanisms that underlie human memory, learning, and decision making and develop techniques to directly interact with those circuits through stimulation methods. Candidates will be expected to participate in independent laboratory research and to write scholarly manuscripts. 


Qualifications
 

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D.  in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, data science, or a related field. 

Canidates will be evaluated on: a strong research background, with a record of publications. Candidates who are able to lead and work well in a team. A strong computational, quantitative, and/or engineering skills, with proficiency in developing custom code (Matlab, Python, etc.) for data analysis.  Past medical research is not required, but candidates must be willing to perform experiments in a clinical setting. Candidates will interact with clinical staff, graduate students, and must have excellent spoken and written English skills.
