Job Description

SCIENCE FOR PROGRESS INITIATIVE (SfPI) POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Economics/Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to conduct research using randomized evaluations to reduce poverty. J-PAL works in ten sectors, including agriculture, education, health, and more. Sector teams, led by J-PAL affiliated professors, manage initiatives that fund research, create publications that summarize lessons from randomized evaluations, and host policy and training outreach events. Will operate with substantial intellectual autonomy while working alongside Pierre Azoulay, the faculty supervisor for this position, and with further opportunities for collaboration with researchers leading allied initiatives including SfPI and the Institute for Progress .

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a doctoral degree in economics, political science, public policy, computer science, or related fields and a strong background in either implementing RCTs on your own and/or demonstrated research interest in one or several of the subject areas noted above; and Stata or R proficiency. PREFERRED: Python, C, MATLAB or other programming skills, and GIS and/or remote sensing experience. Job #23232
