Job Description

Post-Doctoral Position – Regulation of DNA Replication Kinetics

The Rhind lab is seeking an ambitious post-doctoral fellow to study the regulation of DNA replication kinetics in fission and budding yeast.  This project will focus on the mechanisms that regulate the timing of origin firing.  We have developed a model for the mechanism of origin timing based on experimental and computational analysis of genome-wide replication-kinetic data sets.  The project involves testing this model using a range of genetic, genomic, molecular, biochemical, single molecule and computational approaches.

Applicants for this position should have, or be in the process of submitting, a PhD or equivalent degree, and have a strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, computational biology or biochemistry.  They should also have a proven record of research productivity demonstrated by peer reviewed publications.

The work will be carried out in the laboratory of Dr. Nick Rhind in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, part of UMass Med School’s thriving scientific community.  The laboratory is located in a state-of-the-art building providing an interactive environment and exceptional research facilities.  For further information, visit our lab or departmental websites .

Applications, including a CV detailing research experiences and publications, and a letter describing reasons for interest in the project, should be sent to Nick Rhind .  Applicants should also request recommendation letters to be directly sent by three references.
