Position Qualification


Position Summary
A Postdoctoral Research Associate in antimicrobial development for infectious diseases is required to study the toxicity, antimicrobial efficacy and mechanism of action of novel antimicrobial agents in vitro and in vivo in the research laboratory of Professor Guangshun Wang, PhD, in the Department of Pathology & Microbiology, University of Nebraska Medical Center. Develops novel compounds that curb pathogenic microbes, especially difficult-to-kill ESKAPE pathogens such as Klebsiella and P. aeruginosa. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, independent, rigorous, and hypothesis-driven scientist who will be expected to participate in training of graduate students, lab meetings, and other duties appropriate to the applicant’s career goals. Required Qualifications
  • PhD or MD/PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, or related scientific field.
  • Expertise of in vivo toxicity and efficacy evaluation of antimicrobial agents in topical and systemic mouse models.
Supplemental Qualifications
  • Expertise in bacterial genetics.
