Position Summary:
The UC Irvine School of Medicine Department of Physiology & Biophysics is dedicated to conducting innovative, cutting-edge research, engaging in high-level service and providing excellent educational opportunities and mentoring to students, postdoctoral fellows and residents in the discipline of physiology and biophysics.
The overall goal of this project is to evaluate skeletal muscle dysfunction from injured and aging human shoulder tissues in collaboration with the Orthopedic Surgery department. Lab Assistant will perform pathology analysis of muscle biopsies using core facilities in the Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center and the Reeve-Irvine Research Center. Lab Assistant will be required to provide weekly/monthly updates to clinical and collaborative groups. Lab assistant will also help perform lab maintenance, cell culture, and supervision of undergraduates. Please see HicksLab.org for more details on the lab and research projects.

$22.00 - $25.88 (Hourly Rate)
Required:
Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and two years of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and one year of laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Previous experience working in a laboratory is required
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in cell biology, molecular biology, or related field.
