The position may be tenure-track (tenure-earning or tenured, depending on rank) or non-tenure-earning. The successful candidate will have experience teaching microbiology and working within multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver a foundational sciences curriculum that integrates biomedical science and clinical concepts. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in scholarly activity, preferably in the Medical Education field. Applicants who are licensed M.D.'s may have opportunities for clinical practice with a clinical partner, and those who wish to engage in clinical or basic science research may have the opportunity to do so in a limited manner as agreed upon with the department chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in biomedical science or an M.D./D.O. from an accredited institution. Prior experience teaching microbiology content is required. M.D. candidates must be Board eligible, or Board certified and have completed ACGME-accredited training

The candidate's scholarly background and experience must be commensurate with the faculty rank for which the application is submitted.

To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor of medicine upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated teaching, research, and service record commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the associate professor of medicine rank.

Preferred Qualifications:

It is preferred that the candidate have at least two years of experience teaching microbiology to medical students at an LCME-accredited medical school. Preferred candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and experience with varied formats, including case-based instruction, large- and small-group discussion, demonstration, simulation, and team-based learning. Candidates with proven accomplishments in medical education research and scholarly activity are encouraged to apply.

Additional Application Materials Required:
