Position Title: Research Associate III

Salary/Range: Dependent on Experience (DOE)

Status: Full time (40 hours/wk), benefits eligible

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, variable hours between 8:00am to 4:30pm

Salary: $64,000 - $70,000

  • Coordinate multisite studies to treat posttraumatic stress disorder and related problems in Veterans.
  • Functions as lead coordinator across study sites to ensure consistency in procedures.
  • Oversite of project coordinators at 4-5 study sites to ensure adherence to study protocol. Coordinates regular meetings of all site coordinators. Assists sites with regulatory documents.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory documents and reports to IRB and funding sites. Develops institutional review board (IRB) applications and annual renewals.
  • Contacts, recruits, and screens study participants. Schedules and coordinates study visits.
  • Oversee all aspects of study flow.
  • Under general supervision, performs clinical research work for clinical trials focused on treating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related problems (e.g,. substance use disorder, trauma-related guilt) in veterans.
  • Facilitate collaboration among investigators, coordinating center personnel, study advisory committee members and 4-5 local site teams.
  • Provides supervision to San Diego study team.
  • Facilitates all aspects of ongoing studies.
  • Collects and records study data, including verbal screenings and administering of questionnaires.
  • Transmits data to the central coordination center via web-based interfaces.
  • Maintains study protocols. Maintains and updates study procedure documents.
  • Assists with grant preparation.
  • Develops quarterly and annual reports for funding agencies.
  • Monitors supply inventories and ordering when additional supplies are required.
  • Complies with safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Reports on potential unsafe conditions.
  • Works well with others.
  • May perform additional duties as required.
