Job Summary
Responsibilities
Assists with IACUC, IBC and IRB protocols, amendments, and reporting.
Assists with laboratory scientific progress reports.
Ensures personnel is up-to-date with training.
Ensures equipment is up-to-date with service agreements.
Coordinates schedules for scientific, research and organizational meetings.
Helps identify and resolve any issue that may arise in managing BSL3 and ABSL3 research.
Uses subject matter and best practices knowledge to perform lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Works independently to assist with project design.
Solves complex problems relating to the administration of projects, including planning new procedures, adapting existing procedures to the needs of the project, and making significant contributions to methodology.
Guides data collection, evaluation and analysis. Designs and manages databases. Writes reports, articles and manuscripts.
Presents research findings at meetings and conferences, as well as to funding agencies. Conducts literature reviews. Develop and maintain liaisons and effective working relations with groups and individuals, agencies, and the public to encourage cooperation.
Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
PhD degree in Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Immunology, or related field.
Experience:
Experience with laboratory techniques in level 2 and 3 containments.
Experience with animal research in level 2 and 3 containments.
Experience working with small animals and RG2/3 viral and bacterial pathogens.
Experience writing scientific reports and research manuscripts.
Working Conditions
Remote position but required to be on site (HTRL-Argonne) at least once per year.
