Summary of Job Duties:
Post-doc will assist Dr. Brye establishing and conducting field measurements of greenhouse emissions in eastern Arkansas, conducting greenhouse studies on greenhouse gas emissions, performing the gas analyses on Dr. Brye’s gas chromatograph, assisting with graduate student and undergraduate hourly student supervision and mentorship, data collection, entry, and analyses, and journal article writing.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree in soil science, specifically applied soil physics, agronomy, or related field, with expertise in greenhouse gas emissions measurements in the field and greenhouse, expertise in laboratory analyses of gas samples with a Shimadzu gas chromatograph and a valid US driver’s license are required minimum qualifications.

Preferred qualifications include extensive experience with field/greenhouse measurements of GHGs (i.e., CO2, CH4, and N2O) using a static-chamber approach, extensive experience with GHG analyses using a Shimadzu gas chromatograph (GC-2014 series) with an AOC-5000 autosampler, experience with row-crop production systems in eastern Arkansas, demonstrated grantsmanship experience, budget maintenance experience, supervision of personnel and student mentorship, and proven publication record on the topic of GHG emissions.
