Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) is seeking (1) Audio Visual Engineer, Associate to join our vibrant and growing team.

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Learning Environments, this individual will assist in the design, integration, and direct support of AV technology in major event spaces for Georgia State University and IIT. This position requires an introductory engineering-level understanding of complex issues that surround the design, implementation, and direct support of event and production environments. Knowledge within this position includes both the technologies associated as well as modern best practices within event and production environments. The Audio Visual Engineer, Associate supports the interactions between technical support issues, design best practices, event and production support best practices, and customer requirements. This position is responsible for staying abreast of emerging technologies and how those technologies can be applied into new instructional scenarios within learning and conference spaces. This position currently directly supports events and productions within the University Club, Center Parc Stadium, and Convocation Center event and production spaces. This position requires collaboration with the AV Systems Administration division and non-event hours are spent supporting the broadcast and on-campus AV teams.

 

HERE’ S WHAT YOU WILL DO

The scope of responsibilities for this position will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:

·       Command intermediate-level audio/visual technologies including Crestron system design, configuration, and video teleconference systems.

·       Assist in the discussion of holistic design principles within learning, event and production environments including the convergence of technology and environmental solutions for pedagogical, event and production best practices.

·       Assist with installation, commissioning, and operation of AV systems in event and production environments. 

·       Research and develop new interactions between emerging technologies to develop new workflows and AV enhancements for event and production spaces.

·       Directly support the AV portion of events in coordination with the event specialists within the University Events division of PRMRCM within IIT supported major event venues.               

·       Command intermediate-level networking skills to facilitate integration and management of network connected AV and broadcast devices.

·       Assist the broadcast and AV Systems Administration divisions with their duties.

Qualifications

: 

Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications: 

·       One or more years supporting educational technology environments.

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·       Knowledge in Service Management with a focus in the Information Technology Infrastructures Library (ITIL).

·       Basic TCP/IP network experience
