Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.

Additional Department Summary: The Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Associate position. This position is available to individuals with research interests in industrial ecology and sustainability research.

Successful candidates will hold a terminal degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Statistics, or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research. The College and/or the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department will establish a series of structured merit-based evaluations. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity.

This Post-Doc position will be expected to conduct research in the areas of industrial ecology and environmental engineering under the supervision of Dr. Daqian Jiang.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or other terminal degree in terminal degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.

Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge in statistical modeling is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with material flow analysis, life cycle assessment, GIS, and interdisciplinary sustainability research.
