Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Accommodated Testing Manager provides overall leadership, management, and delivery of accommodated tests as a 40 hour, full-time, exempt position reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations and Services for the Accessibility and Disability Service (ADS). ADS’ Accommodated Testing Office is a dynamic, high volume, time sensitive environment that requires highly developed skills in communication, attention to detail and understanding of test administration. The Manager should have experience in testing office administration and should excel in a fast-paced, student-oriented, and data driven environment that regularly addresses multiple time sensitive competing demands and has the ability to identify evolving priorities.

The ability to build and maintain relationships and uphold accountability with students, faculty, administrators, parents/family members and other stakeholders is integral to the position. Annually, ADS’ Accommodated Testing Office administers over 10,000 examinations following reasonable and appropriate accommodations approved for students with disabilities. Those accommodations include but are not limited to extended time, reduced distraction testing space, and use of computers and other assistive technology for adaptive purposes. This position works a non traditional schedule and requires evening and weekend hours during the two final exam periods. The Accommodated Testing Manager supervises the Accommodated Testing Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Master’s Degree in higher education or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical skills to research and analyze data and information from a variety of sources to make sound recommendations and decisions.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Office work experience preferably related to standardized and/or accommodated testing practices.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication with a customer service-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Zoom is a must.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic short and long-range plans to meet testing program needs.
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Familiarity with SQL.
  • Experience working with Clockwork, disability database software is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of issues relevant to persons with disabilities and the ability to anticipate students’ needs, expectations, and requirements in a post-secondary environment.
  • Experience staying calm under pressure and making last-minute rapid decisions/ changes as needed.
  • Experience at room supervisor or higher level in national large-scale testing dates – or equivalent experience – to include delivering on-site services to large groups, as well as rapidly and knowledgeably resolving unexpected on-site challenges.
  • Experience training, organizing, coordinating, supervising, and providing daily oversight to staff, students, or volunteers.
  • Ability to determine the data necessary and execute analyses to inform scheduling and other decisions, including the use of data visualization (charts, graphs).
