Premiere Houston social service nonprofit seeks America’s premiere candidate with a passion for “Helping People Empower Themselves”

Civic Heart (CH) is a widely recognized non-sectarian social service organization focused on transforming lives in Houston’s Third Ward[HS1]neighborhood, the greater Houston area and other counties throughout Texas. CH serves approximately 65,000 individuals each year so that youth and their families have the means to meet their needs and flourish in a changing community[HS2]. CH assists youth and adults with health, justice, economic sufficiency, housing, substance misuse, and facilitates connection to, and fosters collaboration with other social services. CH’s wide range of support comes from individuals, foundations, corporations, and the government.

To continue CH’s 34+ year history of growth and success, CH seeks to engage an extraordinary individual to succeed our current, retiring CEO. This individual will lead a dedicated 70+ member staff, and work with a committed board of directors drawn from the greater Houston community.

  • An ability to build ongoing relationships and support with community organizations, donors, patrons, and other stakeholders
  • Strong connection to Houston and affinity for Third Ward’s history, culture, and diverse population
  • Experience developing and managing budgets in association with lay oversight
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience including at least 5 years in a C-Suite leadership position, preferably with a non-profit organization[TS(6]
  • A Bachelor’s degree (higher degree preferred) from an accredited institution

The planned compensation for this position is in the range of $190-$220k annually based on experience. Additional compensation may be awarded based on achievement of performance metrics and budgetary sufficiency. CH offers a comprehensive benefits program as well. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $190,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
