About the job:
The right candidate will be an experienced manager with exceptional leadership skills, responsible for the delivery and execution of our strategic vision and implementation of our mission while overseeing our nonprofit’s daily operations, monitoring the smooth running of our processes, and ensuring that our team members are working productively, equipped with the tools and training they need. This person will be a key member of our management team, fostering healthy relationships within the Organization, among our clients, and with the entities we do business with. Additional responsibilities include providing cohesive management across three locations as well as assisting with the onboarding of new staff and volunteers.

Wages and Compensation:
We offer competitive wages starting between $85,000 - $90,000 base salary depending on experience along with the opportunity for bonuses. We offer the following benefits: Health, dental and vision benefits. In addition, there is group term life insurance, voluntary term life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment coverage and long-term disability available. 401K with a 3% match regardless of contribution. 5 days paid vacation. Holiday & Sick pay.

Compensation:

$85,000 - $90,000

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop both strategic long-term and operational plans that move the Organization toward fulfillment of its mission and vision.
  • Lead the recently merged Organization from its ‘Better Together’ philosophy into a ‘Better Together’ reality.
  • Help us over the finish line of our rebranding efforts including the launch of our new name, planned for January 2024.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team made up of volunteer and paid members across three campuses.
  • Network with other businesses, churches, and organizations for the promotion of our Organization and development of consistent, sustainable funding sources.
  • In collaboration with the Finance Committee, develop a long-term financial plan that reflects fiscal wholeness and stability.
  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the BOD Executive Committee.
  • Actively support the recruitment of Board members and the development of an engaged BOD.
  • Understand the relationship between the Organization (a subsidiary) and its Parent Entity.
  • Be able and willing to work during occasional evenings and weekends:
  • To manage emergencies from residents. This is usually a phone call, but it does happen from time to time.
  • To attend networking events and/or other charitable events.

 

Qualifications:

Requirements:

 

  • A personal spiritual commitment that reflects an understanding of the importance of a faith practice.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in 501(c)(3) nonprofit management or executive leadership.
  • A proven track record of fundraising success.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse staff of both paid and volunteer members.
  • Operational understanding of 501(c)(3) financing and funding resourcing with the ability to determine and meet fundraising goals.
  • Operational understanding of 501(c)(3) accounting principles with the ability to create and maintain organization-wide budgets.
  • We would love it if the candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and familiarity with ‘Sage’ accounting and ‘Virtuous’ donor management software systems.

  • Able to manage fast changes and interruptions; proactive thinker; can and will set goals that are SMART.

 

What to Expect in Daily Duties:

 

  • Ethical leadership and a strong personal work ethic, leading by example.
  • To promote CMOH/RD in a positive light.
  • Community presence and networking events.
  • Show a positive and grateful attitude toward all donors, volunteers, and staff.
  • Lead, support, and participate in fundraising goals through grants, fundraiser events, etc.
  • Develop an overall awareness of CMOH/RD in the community, including but not limited to, a monthly email newsletter, weekly social media updates, and quarterly donor development piece.
  • Oversee, connect, and integrate CMOH/RD into area churches and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with city and county personnel, developing and maintaining a healthy working relationship.
  • Fulfill all contractual obligations from municipalities and grant requirements.
  • Ensure active volunteer recruitment and leadership development, with the ideal goal of empowering clients to become volunteers.
  • Honorably represent CMOH and participate in joint community and municipal organizations (i.e., County of Riverside Continuum of Care, Riverside Executive Oversight Committee on Homelessness, Regional Homeless Alliance) as pertinent to ongoing business and mission. Oversee, maintain, and ensure that all work practices are safe, and proper and comply with all Federal, State, County, City, and OSHA laws.
  • Lead, direct, oversee, and support all aspects of CMOH/RD programming including managing budget, staff, and volunteers for the programs below.

 

Empowerment Village program and Hope Family Housing program

 

  • Oversee the care of 5 homes located on one campus in southwest Riverside County and operated as transitional housing for single mothers with young children, including but not limited to:
  • Care of the properties
  • Manage and oversee intake contract agreements for each resident.
  • Provide needed care to residents to help move them to self-sufficiency
  • Maintain programs and case management (social worker) for support of our residents.

 

Housing Resource Center program

 

  • Oversee all case management and wrap-around services
  • Provide an exceptional resource center for church, school, and the greater community
  • Oversee and develop a budget that could ideally help clients with other gap expenses when needed, such as utilities, gas cards, etc.

 

Food Pantry program (Rider Way Warehouse)

 

  • Build relationships with clients, providing agency through crossover connections with our other programming.
  • Oversee and maintain all vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with Feeding America and others.

 

Residing In Hope Senior Care program

 

  • Oversee programming aimed at preventing homelessness and hunger while promoting community seniors.

Our mission is HOPE. We are a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization. We exist to prevent and solve food and housing insecurity in southwest Riverside County. We are a recently merged nonprofit, formed by the combination of Community Mission of Hope (CMOH) and Rancho Damacitas (RD), and are seeking an enthusiastic and visionary leader to serve as our Executive Director.

In our Organization, the Executive Director (ED) serves as the Chief Executive Officer and reports to the Board of Directors. The ED is responsible for the consistent achievement of the Organization’s financial objectives and mission through oversight of day-to-day operations as well as development of a long-term strategic plan.
