The Postdoctoral Research Associate will perform independent or supervisory roles in research activities requiring an advanced level of knowledge in a field of science or learning and consistent use of discretion and judgment. Performs research studies and analysis in the areas of drug lead optimization and toxicology. What You Need to Know

Salary Range: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.

Work Schedule: Travels to in-state or out-of-state locations (durations up to 14 days for each trip) within the Continental US as required for training. Occasional weekend and after-hours work required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional working relationships with people from various backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in cell biology or a related area or an MD degree

  • Chimeric antigen receptor-T cell engineering and production skills

  • Experience with animal handling and cell biology techniques

  • Experience with donor T cells and their engineering and their tests in animal models

Responsibilities:

  • Experiments: Conducts independent research. Carries out research problem solving. Researches literature in connection to possible procedures and experiments. Modifies experiments to suite the particular research needs.

  • Experimental Procedures: Performs investigations utilizing a wide range of experimental procedures carried out at the in vivo level, including Genetics and Molecular Genetics, Transgenesis, subcloning and DNA sequencing, RT-PCR, PCR, and fluorescence and DIC microscopy. Maintains laboratory instrumentation and follows applicable safety standards.

  • Data Analysis: Perform all aspects of research data analysis including design and execution of in vivi assays, statistical analysis of data and assists the PI with the preparation and presentation of completed analysis to collaborators, stake holders and the publication of results in high quality peer reviewed journals.

  • General Operation: Operates all the instrumentation needed for projects and compiling data. Makes and records observations and measurements. Manages lab orders.

  • Meetings: Participates in weekly lab meetings with the center and other departments.  Participates in joint projects involving the laboratory team and performs other duties as assigned.
