Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) is seeking (1) Manager, IIT Procurement and Asset Management to join our vibrant and growing team.

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Business Services, this individual will manage and implement all elements of purchasing and asset management for Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT). The Procurement Management and Asset Management unit has evolving roles and is a great opportunity for growth.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The scope of responsibilities for this position will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:

  • Provides oversight of the asset management coordination and ensures tracking accountability for warehousing of IT assets maintained by IIT.
  • Responsible for managing both office operations and warehouse operations (to include staff supervision) and overseeing the annual IIT asset inventory process.
  • Plan, lead, organize, assign, supervise, direct, and evaluate work performed by Procurement and Asset Management staff, ensuring all work is completed on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Specialized responsibility for providing and overseeing all elements of purchasing goods and services for the IIT Division.
  • Identify opportunities that focus on cost reductions, efficiencies, quality improvements, risk mitigation, supply trends and shifts in technology.  
  • Enable department budget savings and apply streamlined approaches to procurement issues.  
  • Continually seek out ways to better conduct business and meet competing needs within a multi-campus environment.  
  • Responsible for coordinating communications with customers and suppliers regarding procurement and asset management opportunities, standards, and business practices.  
  • Develop, negotiate, execute, and administer all types of unique, complex, and legally binding contracts for goods, services, personal and professional services.

Qualifications

: 

Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications: 
  • Knowledge of information systems, technology, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of State and agency/institution purchasing laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of specifications and contracts.
  • Knowledge of inventory and asset management practices.
  • Ability to resolve problems between departments and vendors.
  • Ability to formulate and interpret policies and procedures relating to purchasing.
  • Ability to supervise a subordinate purchasing staff.
  • Effective communication, organizational and project management skills.
