A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Amyn Habib, MD , to study Cancer Biology in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. 

Our laboratory focuses on the following major areas of research. 

  • Mechanisms of resistance to targeted treatment in glioblastoma, lung and other cancers. 
  • Synthetic lethal interactions in receptor tyrosine kinase signaling. 
  • Mechanisms regulating invasion and proliferation in glioblastoma.  We are particularly interested in translational studies that can be transitioned rapidly into clinical trials. 
  • Recent publications from our lab include Nat Neurosci . 2017 Jul 26;20(8):1035-1037, J Clin Invest .   2018 Jun 1;128(6):2500-2518, Nat. Cancer  (2020). 1, 394-409, Nat. Commun. (2021) 12 (1), 7014, Nat. Cell Biol. (2022) 24 (8) 1291-1305. 

    We are looking for an individual with a MD/PhD or PhD degree who is highly motivated and hardworking with experience in molecular and cell biology and bioinformatics and strong evidence of research accomplishment.  Experience working with a mouse model of cancer is strongly preferred.  Our laboratory offers the opportunity to conduct high quality research in a supportive environment.
