Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The LC Police Aide is directly responsible to his/her immediate supervisor and is responsible for radio dispatch, field duties, and office work as required by the Laredo College Police Department.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Use two-way radios to communicate with officers and base only.
Answer telephone attentively.
Patrol parking lots/buildings; stay at assigned post.
Run errands and assist with office duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Keep confidentiality in all areas of the department.
Be receptive to police radio at all times.
Must be punctual when reporting to work.
Wear and be responsible for Campus Police issued equipment.
Police Aide will be supervised by Telecommunications Operator, Patrol Officers, Patrol Sergeants, and Lieutenants.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work outdoors at different locations.
Required to work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
Immediate supervisor may assign other duties. May be required to work outside regular working hours, as needed. May be required to work at a different college work site or campus as needed
