The Mejor Via Foundation was established to oversee poverty alleviation efforts in the Dominican Republic, India, and Northern Ohio. Our work in Cleveland, under the name OneHope NEO, focuses on reducing socioeconomic barriers for individuals to escape the cycle of poverty. A few of our key programs and activities include:

  • Strategic planning with block clubs to create greater impact using existing resources in Cleveland’s near westside neighborhoods
  • Monthly, food distributions to 425+ families
  • An online tool that provides a platform for communications, collaboration, and events
  • Community cleanup events in the Clark Fulton neighborhood
  • Low-income housing and refugee support in conjunction with Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Services
  • And more!

We are seeking a Community & Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to assist the organization with implementing these programs and initiatives, especially helping to promote programs to community members and identify ways to get our volunteers involved in various opportunities.

Of note, in this role, you may be asked to help support The Mejor Via Foundation’s programming in the Dominican Republic, India, and other areas, but this is not the bulk of the role.

Community & Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be the primary point of contact for our most important stakeholders – volunteers & community members
  • Assist in promoting, facilitating, and further developing programs and initiatives
  • Support and coordinate efforts with volunteers, Board Members, and other team members
  • Liaise between the Program Manager and various stakeholders
  • Support the maintenance of the Foundation’s database (Salesforce)

Community & Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications

  • Passionate about making a difference within the world
  • Comfortable with ambiguity – enjoys coming up with answers to organizational challenges
  • Excellent communicator – both written & verbal communication skills are required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks independently
  • Ability to leverage common software packages (e.g., Microsoft Suite [Excel, PowerPoint, and Word], Salesforce, etc.)
  • Able to make sound recommendations, ask questions, and drive things forward
  • A related degree is beneficial, but not required (e.g., business, social justice, public health)
  • Spanish speaking/writing abilities are extremely beneficial, but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
