Job Summary

The General Maintenance Supervisor manages maintenance personnel and ensures work is done in a timely and cost efficient manner; evaluates existing buildings and areas and provides advice and estimates for changes or repairs; works with contractors and vendors to obtain bids and quotes to supply services or product to the District; manages the work order program to insure customer service, inspects work, performs evaluations, produces reports, meets with staff and end users on a regular basis and coordinates with construction services, grounds, plant personnel, and the learning community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages maintenance personnel and ensures work is done in a timely and cost efficient manner; inspects work, monitors schedules, performs evaluations and meets with staff on a regular basis
• Evaluates existing buildings and areas and provides advice and estimates for changes or repairs
• Works with contractors and vendors to obtain bids and quotes to supply services or product to the District
• Maintains work orders, records and reports
• Coordinates with construction services, grounds, plant personnel, and the learning community; meets with end users on a regular basis
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Associate’s degree or 60 college hours from a regionally accredited college or university and five (5) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and related experience
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

CAD license
• Coursework in blue print reading

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
