Description 

The Liu Laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join our team to study molecular mechanisms underlying Neurodegenerative diseases. The main research focus is to understand how dysregulation of endocytic trafficking and degradation pathways may contribute to neuroinflammation and neuropathology associated with Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease, using a comprehensive array of molecular, cellular, genetically modified mouse models, and human tissues. 

The applicant will be encouraged to develop independent research projects within the broad research interest areas of the lab. Application for mentored fellowship and career development grant is highly encouraged. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of extension contingent on satisfactory performance. Preferred start date is Spring 2023 but is flexible.

Qualification:  
Candidates with a recent Ph.D. degree in biomedical science or related discipline are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should have a proven track record with publications. Strong motivation, good communication skills and the ability to work independently are required. Prior experience in relevant fields including e.g. cell culture, animal handling, neuropathology and molecular biology techniques is desirable.
