Job Summary
The Nursing Department is accepting applications for Adjunct instructors for the Basic Nurse Assisting program, specifically focused on clinical setting. Clinical assignments and times may vary. Immediate openings include clinical responsibilities at long term care facilities, with hours including days, late afternoons, and evenings.
Responsibilities of a Kishwaukee College Clinical Adjunct Instructor include:
- Promoting, the philosophy, mission, and vision of Kishwaukee College
- Providing engaging, enthusiastic, and student-centered teaching to community college students
- Establishing a professional atmosphere that encourages mutual respect and civil engagement
- Contributing a collegial, collaborative, and positive attitude to students and colleagues
- Understanding and conveying the essentials of the profession that students should master
- Maintaining high academic standards while demonstrating equitability and fairness
- Working successfully and productively in a team environment with full time faculty
- Performing the necessary duties on an adjunct instructor to ensure quality instruction
In addition to clinical responsibilities, adjunct instructors will be required to grade student work and document assessments of student performance
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required Qualifications
- Must be licensed as an RN in Illinois with the equivalent of 2 years full-time work in clinical practice required
- Ability to stand and lecture and work in the clinical field for extended periods of time
- Train the Trainer Certification must be completed prior to clinical/teaching assignment
