The current base salary range for this position is $71,500-$107,600. Position duration: One year with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funding.

Position description
The Cox Lab, in collaboration with the Stanley Lab, is launching a new project to develop novel approaches for treating bacterial infections in clinical trials. This project, also in collaboration with researchers from Harvard University, will focus on the testing and optimizing antibiotic candidates against the bacterial pathogen Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
Under general direction, the successful candidate will serve as the project lead with responsibility for developing and conducting experiments (testing cell culture and animal models for MRSA infection, testing antibiotic candidates in the appropriate assays in order to guide further optimization and development) as well as responsibility for lab management (recruiting/supervising staff research associate, ordering supplies and equipment.)

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
PhD (or equivalent international degree)
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
At least three years prior experience as a postdoctoral researcher
Preferred qualifications
-PhDin microbiology, immunology, or a related discipline
-Research experience in host-pathogen interactions, immune evasion mechanisms and/or host-immune modulation strategies
-Publication record as first or senior author in peer reviewed journals
-Experience with BSL2 organisms, evaluating bacterial infections in both cell and murine systems
