Description

 

Postdoctoral position is immediately available to study the role of interaction of cytochrome P450 1B1 and 12/15 lipoxygenase systems in male mice in response to Angiotensin II-induced hypertension. Experience in two or more areas is preferred: rodent animal models, radiotelemetry, and tail-cuff method of blood pressure measurement, immunohistochemical staining of brain sections, stereotaxic technique for injection of drugs into specific brain areas, confocal microscopy, and RT-PCR. The successful candidate must have published in peer-reviewed international scientific journals. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own related experiments, develop new techniques, and develop new collaborations with other researchers and apply for extramural fundings.

Qualifications

Ph.D. or M.D./MPH (or equivalent) in biostatistics, public health, hypertension.

1.Should have the knowledge about hypertension research.

2. Should have prior knowledge of working and collaborating with different rodent models of hypertension.

3.Should have the skills to measure blood pressure using radiotelemetry and tail-cuff systems
inject drugs into specific brain regions using stereotaxic technique, perform
immunohistochemical staining of brain sections, confocal microscopy and RT-PCR.

4.Should have the abilities to analyze data, write manuscript and present data at scientific
meetings.
