The Department of Immunology and Microbiology at Scripps Research in La Jolla CA is seeking outstanding applicants for tenure track and tenured positions. More senior candidates will also be considered. Candidates with exciting programs studying fundamental principles and applied approaches to innate and adaptive immunity, host-pathogen interactions, auto-immunity and cancer immunotherapy are encouraged to apply.   

The Immunology and Microbiology Department at Scripps Research offers a dynamic environment that provides a multi-disciplinary, collaborative atmosphere, and fosters cutting edge biomedical research. The department hosts strong expertise in adaptive and innate immunity, microbial pathogenesis, microbial modulation of host physiology, autoimmunity, and vaccine development. The state-of-the-art facilities at Scripps Research provide assistance with proteomics, next-generation sequencing, microscopy, flow cytometry, structural biology, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, medicinal chemistry, rodent behavior, and ultra high-throughput small molecule screening for drug discovery.

Scripps Research — one of the world’s largest, private, non-profit research organizations — is at the forefront of basic biomedical science, with faculty undertaking research that seeks to comprehend the most fundamental processes of life. Over the last decades, the Institute has established its core strengths in biomedical research at the interfaces between chemical and biological sciences.  Nature Index has ranked Scripps Research second in the world and first in the United States among stand-alone scientific institutes for biomedical research, based on discoveries by the Institute’s researchers published in leading scientific journals.
