Job Summary

The Deak Immunoengineering Laboratory in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at Drexel University is seeking a talented postdoc for a NIH funded project on Immunoengineering of HIV therapeutic vaccines beginning in November 2023.

Essential Functions

  • Research: This position will primarily consist of designing HIV targeted vaccines, requiring chemical synthesis, characterization, and evaluation.
  • This is an opportunity for candidates to gain experience in viral characterization and immunology, working closely with a biochemist and immunologist.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • A PhD or Doctorate in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biochemistry or Immunology is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with biochemical synthesis is preferred.
  • Prior research experience, especially with cell culture, nanomaterial synthesis, immunological assays or molecular biology is welcomed, but not required.

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table
  • Typically standing or walking.

Additional Information

This position is classified as exempt with a grade of I, $ 41,120.00 - $ 61,680.00.  The offered salary is dependent upon internal equity and the successful candidate’s competencies, education, and experience.
