Postdoctoral Position in Stress and Obesity Research Using Mouse Models

Job Description


The Teruel Lab investigates the molecular mechanisms how stress and disruption of circadian rhythms are causing obesity. We use genetic mouse models, metabolic profiling, and multiplexed histochemistry and microscopy analysis of isolated tissue. Your project would build on work published in Bahrami-Nejad et al. Our NIH-funded lab is located in newly renovated space within a vibrant research hub on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City with access to the most cutting-edge technologies and many opportunities for collaboration with world-class researchers at Weill Cornell Medicine and neighboring Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Rockefeller University, and the Hospital of Special Surgery. The position is fully funded and offers competitive benefits, a salary range of $65K - $72K, and access to subsidized Cornell housing in Manhattan and Roosevelt Island.

Job Requirements

Candidates must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree. Candidates should have expertise in mouse physiology and have lab experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques. A plus would be if you have experience in adipocyte biology or pancreatic islet biology.
