Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. 

 

The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a full-time Research Scientist. This position will participate in the development and design of research projects, protocols and experiments on various topics, but mainly on studying the health effects of 3-D printing and metal fabrication and developing engineering controls and personal protection devices.


Essential Functions
  • Modify and adapt experimental protocols, techniques and procedures to specific project requirements. Design, coordinate and conduct experimental procedures. 
  • Prepare research results and written summaries of results in manuscript form for publications and in graphics form for presentation at research meetings and for grant proposals. 
  • May submit research proposals as principal investigator for intramural/extramural funding.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to graduate research assistants and other research staff.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. 

Required Education

PhD in engineering or environmental health.


Required Experience

Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.


Additional Qualifications Considered

Postdoctoral or similar research experience.
