Adjunct Instructor - American Sign Language

College of Southern Idaho

Job Description

The College of Southern Idaho is a public, comprehensive community college with campuses in Twin Falls, Burley, and Jerome, Idaho. Our students come from around the world, but we primarily serve eight counties in our local impact area. We offer face-to-face courses at all three campuses in addition to offering a significant percentage of our credits online.

We are seeking to hire adjunct faculty who can support our American Sign Language program. Opportunities may exist for both face-to-face and online teaching of courses in American Sign Language.

By submitting your unofficial transcripts, resume/cv and cover letter, you enter a pool of potential adjunct instructors. After viewing your application materials, department chairs will contact you if the College has a need (based on enrollment) in your area of specialty.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Academic degrees or equivalent expertise in American Sign Language. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required. Please highlight experience teaching the subject matter in a college setting if applicable. Additionally, experience teaching in online environments is valued. Opportunities may exist for evening and/or weekend courses as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to classroom instruction, adjunct instructors are responsible for instructional preparation and assessment of student performance. They provide assistance to students by appointment. They will be required to participate in the College’s internal trainings (online) and outcomes assessment processes (online). Adjunct instructors should stipulate in their cover letter their preference for online or face-to-face courses and should note their level of availability.

These are at-will positions with no guarantee of continued employment from semester to semester.

Salary: $900.00 per credit
