• Responsibilities include:

  • Developing budgets for grants, contracts, clinical contracts, and subcontracts. 
  • Preparing grant and contract applications for submission. 
  • Preparing and following through the internal approval process. 
  • Submitting grants, contracts and subcontracts before sponsor deadlines.
  • Communicating grant application status to PI and AECC Administration as needed/requested.
  • Responding to sponsor's questions and requests for more information.
  • Reporting grants activity at weekly AECC staff meetings.
  • Maintaining grant and contract files.
  • Provide direct backup to Department Administrator
  • Assisting in all department HR functions
  • Hiring process for department personnel (offer letters, visa process, onboarding)
  • Salary and effort allocations
  • Department personnel terminations
  • Other duties as assigned

• A BA/BS in business administration or other related field is required.
• Minimum 3-5 years prior related experience in the pre- and/or post award function.
• Experience in grant and contract financial management in a research environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience in online Federal grant preparation and budget development.
• Knowledge of grants management principles and best practices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (heavy Excel usage), PDF documents, and windows-based computer systems, and adept at learning new online software programs.
• Demonstrated competence in multitasking to manage a large number of applications with differing due dates.
• Seeking a highly organized, detail oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Founded in 1955, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) is one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research and clinical investigation. The mission of the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center (MECC) is to promote and facilitate research that will lead to a better understanding of the origins of cancer and to more effective prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of malignant diseases.

The MECC seeks a Grants Administrator to be responsible for all pre-award activities for the grants and contracts supporting the Cancer Center and its faculty investigators.  This includes our NCI/NIH Core Grant, NCI Calabresi K12 Career Development Award, other federal (e.g., NIH, DOD), foundation (e.g., LLS) grants as well as pharmaceutical contracts.
