Description

The chemistry department at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure-stream position in physical chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning fall semester 2024. 

Qualifications

A PhD in chemistry or a closely related field is required. Postdoctoral research experience is preferred. Particular interest will be given to candidates with expertise and research interests that complement existing department expertise, and whose research plans have a significant experimental component. The successful candidate will be expected to teach general chemistry, teach foundational and advanced physical chemistry, direct an undergraduate research program, and participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum .

The teaching statement should include a consideration of the candidate’s applicable experiences, and/or other qualifications to teach classes and labs in general and physical chemistry.
