Job Description:
HORT 002-
54 hours lecture and 54 hours lab per term. This course covers plant propagation techniques, weed control for ornamental plantings, disease and pest control in the landscape and turf grass management techniques.

3:45pm - 6:55pm Mon/Wed - Hybrid @ Magnolia HS

This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction to high school in a hybrid dual enrollment course.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment;

OR

Any associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment;

OR

Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area.

OR

The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge of urban and sustainable agriculture.

Expertise in culturally responsive teaching in horticulture, particularly as it relates to the relevance of horticulture to the students lives, interest, and communities; demonstrate ability to address equity gaps of racially minoritized groups within horticulture.

Working Conditions:

Salary Range: Salary Range: $1286.03 - $1411.29 per lecture unit rate, $1028.85 - $1128.97 per lab unit rate
