POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Executive Director is responsible for overseeing youth development operational resources and strategic planning of assigned departments. The position will also provide staff and volunteer leadership to the Community Teams of the Annual Campaign fundraising efforts.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work within the Youth Development leadership team to set the pace for successfully executing the Annual Operating Plan
  • Provide leadership for the following:
  • Continued direction for positioning the branch to be successful in its outreach and partnerships into the community
  • Overseeing assigned departments; and/or responsibilities
  • All aspects of program operations including staff development, training, planning, fiscal development and management, program administration, recruiting, managing various programs
  • Community Teams component of the Annual Campaign fundraising efforts
  • Work with the staff team to create an effective Youth Development training environment for staff to stay current in youth development policies and procedures; state and accreditation standards, and management.
  • Lead staff team strategies in youth development employee recruitment, this will including attending college and/or other recruiting events, assisting with interviews and reference checks and assisting with offers
  • Serve as the YMCA resource for ELO-P, California State Childcare licensing, ASES and 21st Century Grant programs and point contact for other accreditation programs.
  • Lead to implement and maximize participation in impact measurements (e.g., SEER survey, PDM, DESSA, Principal Surveys, healthy behavior surveys, grant data, etc.)
  • Manage compliance systems for FPM, Licensing, ACA Accreditation, UPK and ELO-P annual audits.
  • Maintain schedule and tracking for Youth Development trainings.
  • Perform frequent on and off site inspections of programs and act as a resource to supervisory staff
  • Develop a strong Y presence in the community forming professional relationships with key community leaders
  • Attend meetings and trainings
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
  • Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.

 

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years or more of supervisory experience
  • Experience supervising and providing leadership and training to a professional leadership team
  • Demonstrated ability to produce positive results in areas of operations including; staff supervision and development, volunteer/member relations, program development, fiscal management, planning, problem solving and annual special event fundraising
  • Knowledge of previous experience serving diverse populations
  • High skill level in planning and implementation of administrative procedures and the ability to enforce safe regulations
  • Demonstrate ability to manage projects
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities and problem solving strategies
  • Ability to engage and motivate high level YMCA volunteers and key community leaders
  • CPR/AED, First Aid Certification and O2 Certifications obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
  • American Red Cross
  • American Heart Association
  • American Safety & Health Institute

 

SALARY RANGE: $90,000-$95,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
