Tenure Track Faculty Position in Molecular Biology

Job Description


The Department of Molecular Biology at the University of Wyoming seeks candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in the fall of 2024. Areas of expertise may include biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology, computational biology, developmental biology, genetics, genomics, glycobiology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, structural biology, synthetic biology, systems biology, and virology.

The qualified candidate is expected to develop a productive, extramurally funded research program. The candidate is also expected to have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and participate in teaching in the core Molecular Biology curriculum.

The Department of Molecular Biology is a research-intensive academic unit with broad expertise in biochemistry, biotechnology, cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, glycobiology, immunology, and microbiology (http://www.uwyo.edu/molecbio/).  Molecular Biology faculty participate in strong interdisciplinary and departmental graduate programs (http://www.uwyo.edu/molecbio/degree-programs/).

Minimum qualifications include: A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in molecular biology or related field, at least two years of postdoctoral experience, and evidence of excellent research productivity and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications include: Previous success in obtaining research fellowships or grants, a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
