Position Summary:


The Rutgers Division of Life Sciences (DLS) and Human Genetics Institute of New Jersey (HGINJ) invite applications for a non-tenure track faculty position as the Director of Microscopy Facilities to spearhead a newly formed microscopy core facility. As part of the Rutgers Core facility located in Piscataway, NJ, the DLS & HGINJ Microscopy Facility Director will interact with faculty with interests in genetics, immunology, cellular signaling, stem cell biology, and neuroscience. Users include individuals from Rutgers, The Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, The Child Health Institute, and pharmaceutical companies. 

Minimum Education and Experience:


Outstanding applicants will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have extensive postdoctoral training in the microscopy field. A strong track record of achievement in microscopy is required. The successful candidate will head a newly renovated microscopy suite to facilitate research for extramurally funded research programs. The primary requirements of the position are to help maintain and operate equipment in the DLS and HGINJ microscopy core facility. train users on the equipment and coordinate scheduling and billing. The candidate will also develop teaching modules for existing undergraduate and graduate labs, prepare training seminars to inform users on new techniques and novel microscopy paradigms as well as participate in preparing grant applications to support new and/or existing equipment.
