Web Content StrategistJob Description
We’re looking for an experienced Web Content Strategist / Information Architect to join the award-winning ND Web team, developing the University’s most important websites. Every day you’ll be collaborating with our team of web professionals to design beautiful, usable websites for the Notre Dame community.
This is a full time position in South Bend, IN. Our team works a hybrid schedule (both on- campus and remote).
About ND Creative:
ND Creative functions as a creative agency within the University. Our print and web professionals help the University tell its most important stories. Our primary responsibility is supporting the needs of university leadership and University Communications, although the work touches all parts of the University. We oversee the University’s top-level websites (such as www.nd.edu) and are the keepers of the Notre Dame brand standards. Visit creative.nd.edu.
The web team is a small, lean group, and our open-concept working environment can be fast paced. Teamwork, collaboration, and communication are very important. We take best practices seriously, work normal hours, and spend too much time on Slack.
The Job:
We’re looking for a well-rounded web professional that excels in defining content strategy and information architecture for new website projects. This individual partners with campus colleagues to apply the analytic and creative skills necessary to efficiently organize website content. Once direction is established, this individual works with web team designers to ensure that design supports the content strategy defined for every page.
In addition, this individual serves as a project leader, collaborating with the partner, designers, and developers to lead each project until completed. Strong communications and relational skills are a must.
Notre Dame’s communication platform is decentralized across the University’s departments, and our campus partners typically write and govern their own content with little institutional support. This role is responsible for setting them on the right course.
Other responsibilities of this role:
● Updates and improvements within Conductor, Notre Dame’s CMS
● Quality assurance testing for new websites
● Support and customer service for campus partners
● Training partners to use Conductor
Character Traits
● Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
● Extremely organized and methodological; attention to detail.
● High tolerance for ambiguity, matched only by desire to organize it.
● Passionate about delivering great customer experiences.
● Deadline driven; excellent time management/organizational skills.
● Works well in a team environment, embraces change and is highly adaptable.
● Self-motivated, effective problem solver.
● Customer-service orientation; strong desire to serve our partners well.
