Job Summary:

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) – Department of Medicine offers an exciting opening for a full-time Cardiology Research Assistant Professor to serve in the research activities focused on cardiovascular diseases. We seek a talented and passionate individual with a strong background in cardiology to participate in our mission of excellence in education, research, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To serve as investigator and co-investigator in clinical trials and other research activities as Research Assistant Professor and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team with study colleagues.
  • To collaborate in collaborative and innovative research development in cardiovascular diseases
  • To provide general consulting in data collection, study management (grants, protocol review, study design, abstracts, manuscripts)
  • To teach special topic workshops and/or seminar series among cardiovascular disease fields
  • To attend national and international meetings and scientific conferences

  Qualifications:

  Minimum Qualifications:  

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.  

  • Doctoral degree (e.g., MD, PhD or equivalents)
  • Multiple first author peer-reviewed scientific publications in cardiovascular field journals
  • Multiple national and international meeting presentations 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the management of clinical trials in cardiovascular diseases
  • Fellowship in cardiovascular diseases
  • PhD degree
  • Postdoctoral Fellowship in cardiovascular diseases 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent scientific writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concomitant deadlines
  • Ability to work in team for the development and conduction of clinical trials in cardiovascular diseases
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Independent problem-solving of any aspect of clinical research

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$82,000 to $100,000 

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
