    Salary range: The posted UC salary scales [https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html ] set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The salary range for this position is $155,700-$411,500. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan [https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf ], which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

    Position description

    The Division of General Internal Medicine & Health Services Research in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, and the Veterans Administration Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System invite applications for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor ranks.

    Successful applicants will have conducted outstanding, independent scholarly work in health services research with clear implications for clinical practice, population health management, or health policy. We welcome expertise in a broad range of topical areas, including in health equity, which is a particular strength of our Division. Additionally, we invite applications for a faculty position at the advanced assistant and associate level for those interested in palliative care research. Areas of methodologic expertise include but are not limited to econometrics, behavioral economics, machine learning/artificial intelligence, implementation science, evaluation of natural experiments and/or interventions at the practice, health system, and/or policy levels, cost effectiveness analyses, and expertise with mixed methods inclusive of qualitative research approaches. The department is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for conducting exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty in the fields of public health and health services research.

    Applicants must have the potential to obtain peer-reviewed funding and to serve as PI on multidisciplinary research teams. Research training via fellowship, Master’s, or PhD program is highly desirable. Successful clinician investigator applicants will care for patients as well as teach and supervise clinical trainees. Successful non-clinician candidates will be involved in teaching research methods to postdoctoral fellows and other research trainees. An M.D. with board certification in Internal Medicine and/or Ph.D. is required.
