About the Role

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) is in search of two enthusiastic academic experts specializing in computer graphics or information visualisation to become part of the School of Computing and Information Systems (CIS).

As part of a world-class computer science research group, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with renowned international teams, publish in influential conferences and journals, mentor graduate researchers, secure independent grant funding, and contribute to teaching and administrative responsibilities. This role offers a chance to make a significant impact in computer graphics or information visualisation research and be at the forefront of technology education and innovation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide a significant degree of scholarly research initiative in computer graphics, visualisation, and related fields
  • Coordinate and conduct lectures and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including engagement in teaching innovation and improvement
  • Participate in industry and community liaison activities as arranged by the School

Who We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role, you would be a dynamic and motivated individual with expertise in computer graphics or information visualization. You should have a strong academic background and be an early or mid-career scholar with a track record of publishing in reputable conferences and journals. Additionally, you should possess excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a world-class human-computer interaction research group. You should also have a passion for cutting-edge research and a desire to be an aspiring leader in the field.

You will also have:

  • A PhD in either Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Graphics, Human-Computer Interaction (or equivalent)
  • A relevant research track record as evidenced by research publications on computer graphics and visualization in top-ranked journals, and conferences
  • Experience in obtaining competitive research funding
  • A willingness and ability to supervise graduate research students
