Position Highlights The Kenry Lab at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the University of Arizona is seeking two postdoctoral research associates to join its newly formed team. With expertise in nanomaterials, bioimaging, photo/immunotherapy, and machine learning, the Kenry Lab adopts data-driven and bioinspired approaches to design and build novel platform tools and models to achieve more personalized, targeted, and safer cancer immunotheranostics.

In this exciting role, the candidates are expected to advance the research vision of the Kenry Lab by leading the computational (position 1) and experimental (position 2) efforts of the group. The candidate for position 1 should possess strong programming/coding expertise in R or Python and substantial experience in developing machine learning algorithms to address questions in either nano- or biosciences. The candidate for position 2 should have extensive wet lab experience in nanomaterial formulation and characterization and in vitro cell and molecular biology. The candidates will have plenty of opportunities to interact and collaborate with researchers from different departments across the University of Arizona.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize new machine learning algorithms or meta-analytical approaches to streamline the formulation of theranostic nanomaterials (position 1).
  • Design, conduct, and troubleshoot wet lab experiments (position 2).
  • Analyze and interpret computational/experimental results.
  • Author peer-reviewed journal articles and contribute to research proposal development.
  • Present research findings in lab meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Maintain and manage lab equipment and supplies.
  • Mentor new lab members.
  • Ensure the regulatory compliance of our research program by coordinating with granting agencies and regulators.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in data science, computer science, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical science, materials science and engineering or a relevant field of study within the last 3 years, with strong research backgrounds and experience in machine learning and meta-analysis or cancer theranostics and nanomedicine.
