The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for research activities in the area of experimental high energy physics. The selected candidate will also be responsible for physics analysis of CMS data and CMS muon system upgrades and operations. What You Need to Know

Salary: $54,000

Position location:  College Station, Texas, USA, with possible relocation to Geneva, Switzerland; cost of living adjustment provided if base is assigned as Geneva.

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Appropriate PhD.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • PhD in Physics or a related field with a focus on experimental high energy physics

  • Software development in C++ and python experience. Knowledge of ROOT statistics package

  • Analysis and detector work experience at a collider experiment

  • Physics analysis experience in the area of Higgs searches or new physics searches at one of the LHC experiments

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis: Performs physics analysis of CMS data. Responsible for the advising of students doing related research activities.

  • Upgrades: Works on activities related to CMS muon system upgrades and operations and performs other duties as assigned.
